The device

What the Apex Pro Pen is

The Apex Pro Microneedling Pen is a professional microneedling pen for the treatment room. It is not a consumer device, and it is sold only to licensed practices in the United States.

Needle depth runs from 0.1 to 2.5 mm and adjusts in 0.1 mm steps. There are 3 treatment speeds, and the motor runs up to 9,000 RPM. The pen uses a battery, with optional AC power, so a room can run it plugged in or not.

Cartridges are single-use and sterile, in 12-pin and 36-pin. TruSkin describes the 12-pin for smaller areas, including the eyes, nose, and lip, and the 36-pin for broader areas. That describes the cartridge. It is not a list of cleared indications.

Apex Pro is an FDA-cleared Class II microneedling device.

If a rep uses a different sentence, ask them to put Apex Pro is an FDA-cleared Class II microneedling device in writing, along with the 510(k) number, before you treat it as the status of the device.

Who it is for

Licensed practices that already microneedle

Apex Pro is sold to licensed US med spas, dermatology practices, and plastic surgery practices. The closest fit already offers microneedling and owns a professional pen it can trade in.

You keep using your current pen until the new one is installed and your team is trained, so the book does not go empty during the switch. The trade-in itself is spelled out on the trade-in page.

Alongside the pen

ApexPDRN+

TruSkin also offers ApexPDRN+ alongside the Apex Pro Microneedling Pen. Use only as labeled. Topical use only.

Device details also sit on the Apex Pro site. The quote still starts here if you want Med Spa Club to request it for you.
